Receiving is a skill.  That’s why players get paid big money in the NFL to be one.  They have to know the plan, run the route, get into position, resist the opponent and catch the ball.  Jesus said in Matthew 11:14, “If you are willing to receive it.”  There's a big IF in that statement.  Jesus because something is available to us doesn’t mean we automatically receive it.  But God wants us to receive everything He has for us so in this passage, Jesus talks about 5 aspects of receiving.  Listen for them in this teaching by Mark Pfeifer recording at Open Door.
